The History of Delta Delta Delta
The Purpose of Delta Delta Delta shall be to establish a perpetual bond of friendship among its members, to develop a stronger and more womanly character, to broaden the moral and intellectual life, and to assist its members in every possible way.
It shall also be the purpose of Delta Delta Delta to promote and develop mutually beneficial relationships between the fraternity and colleges and universities where the fraternity has established chapters, to develop qualities of unselfish leadership among its members, and to encourage them to assume, with integrity and devotion to moral and democratic principles, the highest responsibilities of college women.
FOUNDED: Thanksgiving Eve, 1888 at Boston University

THE TRIDENT: published quarterly since 1891; TriDelta was the first women's faternity to publish a magazine
LEADERSHIP SCHOOL: a tradition since 1955; occurs in odd numbered years; DDD was the first women's fraternity to hold this training
NATIONAL CONVENTION: occurs in summer of even numbered years; The 1996 convention was held in Dallas, Texas
GOLDEN CIRCLE: 50 year member of TriDelta
PSI PSI PSI: sorority for DDD moms
EXECUTIVE OFFICE: in Arlington, Texas
SYMBOLS: stars & crescent, dolphin, delta and silver trident
OUR CREST: The meaning of the crest is explained at initiation.The crest may only be used by initiated members.
EMBLEMS:
1.- The Pearl - The only jewel that grows with time into a thing of greate beauty. The pearl is the symbol of our new member, and that's you! You as a new member are the potential strength and constant growth of our chapter
2.- The Pine - Our symbol of strong character. We associate the pine with active members who through their devotion to TriDelta and their faithfulness to her precepts, continue to develop into womanhood
3.- The Pansy - We associate our alumnae with the pansy. The varied colors represent the differing personalities within our chapter and throughout all TriDeltas. The pansy suggest tenderness and friendship
COLORS: silver, gold and blue
PLEDGE PIN: Three deltas put together to make one. Green was chosen because silver, gold and blue makes green! Wear you pin in business and formal meeting attire. It is never to be worn with jeans, shorts, sweatshirts, formals or on a coat
